White Peacock 023 | The Sun Within: Plump Yellow Corn and the Soul's Self-Sufficient Awakening
Question: When the world outside is heavy with darkness and survival pressure, how do we reclaim our inherent light?
Answer: Stop reaching outward. Stop denying yourself. Recognize that your essence is like the sun in the sky (or a plump ear of yellow corn)—an eternal, complete, high-dimensional energy. External emotions and pressures are just passing dark clouds. Once you return to the balanced origin point of “Stillness” (止), free from internal friction, your inner light naturally shines through.

Reflection in the Rain: Breaking the Illusion of Self-Denial
The weather was pleasant when I left home that morning. After a while at the office, it started to rain. I looked out the upstairs window toward the distant mountains and the city beyond, all of it shrouded in a hazy white rain mist.
The gloomy sky made me wonder: what does it truly look like when a person carries their own light?
When the world around you is gray and murky, and everyone has been tamed into rigidity and smallness by the day-to-day grind of survival, it’s genuinely hard to give more—because that demands even more energy. I used to live a rather gray existence, convinced I had no capacity to bring light to others, denying myself from the inside out.
Thoughts become habits. Over time, you start believing those thoughts are true, mistaking yourself for the thoughts themselves. But that’s not what’s happening! Thoughts are just fleeting mental events. Our Essence never depends on or equals any external thing. It is an eternal, indestructible, luminous energy that no definition in this world can increase or diminish by a single degree.
| Conventional Self-Perception | High-Dimensional Awareness |
|---|---|
| Identifying with Thoughts (Believing you ARE those dark, lacking thoughts) | Disidentifying from Thoughts (Thoughts are just passing dark clouds—not the true Self) |
| Seeking Externally (Relying on external circumstances and others’ definitions to establish self-worth) | Returning to Essence (Essence is eternal, indestructible luminous energy—neither increasing nor decreasing) |
| Internal Friction (Feeling small and drained by external storms and pressure) | The Stillness of the Origin (Ceasing to seek outward; creating infinitely along the core’s central axis) |
Returning to the Balanced Origin: “Stillness” Without External Seeking
When I didn’t yet understand what I was, I had to lean on external circumstances to practice clarifying myself, so I kept seeking outward. After long stretches of practice, until the day I finally understood and became myself, external definitions gradually blurred, and all that remained was the dialogue within. Only when the sense of lack fades, when you stop reaching outward and return to the balanced origin—free from internal friction, free from external seeking—does true “Stillness” arrive.
When the mind is at peace, your world is whole. Whether the world outside is storming or calm, your core is a central axis—the origin point. No reason required: continuous, infinite creation is simply who you are. I know this world is full of gray, unavoidable circumstances. Sometimes I, too, lose my composure or feel the tide shift, but those are just dark clouds drifting in without warning. Before long, the wind scatters the gathered clouds, and your Sun in My Heart still hangs high in the sky. So it’s not that you lack it or can’t do it. It’s that you haven’t yet seen your essence clearly.
Since we’re talking about essence, it’s the same for everyone—unbound by time, space, status, or any external condition, and independent of any level of spiritual attainment. This is genuine, unshakeable equality. Right here, right now, it is one with your life and mine—eternally present, indestructible~
Note: I originally thought the theme would be a big sun, but the flow of consciousness produced a whole pile of plump ears of yellow corn. I decided to follow my heart and paint just one; the rest is up to your imagination ^ ^
